Breaking habit of thinking about unpleasant/pleasant experiences,situations,people...

Sometimes there is a particular topic or person about which we tend to think as a habit,it could be reliving old hurtful memories,drawing inferences or simply repeating the incidence in our heads thinking about it in a linear direction, thinking of doomsday scenarios & outcomes. This is the point where we should become aware that thinking about this type of topic,situation or person has become a habit we are unable to break.
It's almost like an addiction instead of an addictive substance we become addicted to the unpleasant topic,person or situation.
This type of addiction can also happen with people or situations about which we are extremely happy or hopeful .

Breaking this habit is extremely important because otherwise the topic takes over majority of your time & energy which we can use somewhere else like for self healing or find..& work on our life purpose.

Let's see how we can break this habitual thinking..when you notice this habit stop right there take a deep breath continue breathing deeply till you feel relaxed.
Once you feel a bit calm try to think about another fascinating,important topic it could also be some topic on which you will like to know more, while you are doing this notice whether you are easily able to come up with an alternative topic or is it that you are still going back to your earlier topic since nothing else seems as interesting.

The moment you realize that you are unable to find any other topic of equal or more interest you know that your habitually thinking about the particular topic/person/situation, this is because you haven't given yourself the permission & the gift of contributing meaningfully to your own life.
A deeper inquiry into our inner workings,desires,dreams is a very rewarding experience.
Digging inside ourselves to find our life purpose is the single most important gift you can give yourself.
